Maui Banyan is located in Kihei on Maui's sunny south coast near to the golden sands of Kamaole Beach and is surrounded by coconut palms, the beautiful West Maui Mountains and the Island of Lanai and Molokai decorate the view.
Maui Beach Vacation Club is situated on the southwest coast of Maui and is home to spectacular ocean views.
Job Summary: A Resort Manager I is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective day to day operations of Sands of Kahana, Kahana Beach Resort, and Kahana Villa Resort.
Provide quality products and services to owners and guests which align directly with RCI, Interval International, and our own internal standards, while consistently meeting budgetary measures for each of the properties.
They manage staff, succession planning and strategic development of future enhancements with a focus on the 3 pillars of hospitality: employees, owners-guests and finance.
They also ensure the departments focus remains on its Principles, Purpose, Promise, and Vision.
Essential Functions: · Leadership and development of department managers, including succession planning.
· Promote positive inter-departmental relationships while effectively collaborating with Executive Leadership and staff across all levels.
· Recruit, interview, hire and ensure proper training of new employees.
· Conduct coaching, counseling, and disciplinary action.
· Partner with the Resort Management team (RMT) to provide exceptional customer service in every interaction with owners and guests.
· Oversee effective handling and fulfillment of all guest requests and concerns.
· Ensure timely response to all owner/guest inquiries.
· Meet or exceed RCI’s ratings for the appropriate crown level at each resort.
· Maintain appropriate Interval International’s resort ratings for each resort.
· Ensure that our service scores meet gold level at each resort, which includes actively responding to the alerts from the comment card program.
· Produce annual budgets for both the Vacation Club and the AOAO as applicable for each property.
· Produce a capital expenditure plan (Reserves) for each new budget year.
· Proactive involvement in the revenue management initiatives to maximize resort revenues.
· Ensure resort’s operating costs are within budgetary guidelines and ensure team member accountability.
· Adhere to all Safety and Security procedures to protect the safety of guests, employees, and assets which include, but are not limited to OSHA, HazCom, and MSDS compliance.
· Be involved with and promote Yes& social networking initiatives for the resort.
· Proactively address issues that could negatively affect overall resort quality.
· Ensure compliance to resort operating controls, SOP’s, policies, procedures, and service standards.
· Maintain a flexible work schedule based on business needs and ensure RMT presence on property seven days per week.
· Ensure proper scheduling of all employees and maintain proper scheduling of managers, including sufficient coverage on all shifts.
· Perform all other duties as assigned by Executive Leadership team.
Requirements: Job Specifications: · Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Leadership role with timeshare and/or hotel operations.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office package.
· Excellent customer service skills.
· Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
· Must have professional appearance.
· Must be proficient in all aspects of financials.
