Job Summary:
Performs inventory management responsibilities including receiving, counting, picking, ordering, stocking and distributing of medical and non-medical supplies and equipment for department in a timely manner with exceptional customer service.
Creates order requisitions for items, materials or services of non-technical, technical, or specialized nature for use throughout the facilities.
Monitors status of products including backorders, and communicates with appropriate staff in a timely and professional manner and researches possible substitute products.
Negotiates and collaborates with vendors, internal customers and departments.
Essential Responsibilities:
Coordinates with other departments to ensure proper inventory levels are maintained at all times.
Keeps management informed of problem areas and takes constructive corrective action.
Performs regular Inventory of departments and other carts; distributes items as appropriate; enters distribution data in computer, generates pick list; distributes items, refills departments supplies, supply carts and supply pyxis stations; records and issues quantities accurately and any other tasks requested.
Checks and refills shelved and Pyxis station supplies; identifies and removes outdated supplies; rotates supplies using FIFO (First in, first out) principle.
Receives orders; verifies orders received complete and as requested; enters data in computer, inspects items for visible damage.
Receives, stores and prepares equipment for future use; enters equipment data in computer, distributes equipment as requested.
Returns incomplete, incorrect or damaged orders; enters data in computer, performs follow-up with vendor, ensures returned items are replaced.
Performs cycle count; and verifies inventory stock.
May operate motorized loading equipment (pallet jack, stacker, etc) safely, moves supplies for storage, maintains equipment
Demonstrates exceptional customer service with variety of internal and external customers.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience
Minimum one (1) year of inventory management or related experience.
Education
High school diploma or GED.
License, Certification, Registration
Drivers License (in location where applicable)
Additional Requirements:
Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in oral and written communication, customer service, attention to detail, computer skills, multi-tasking, and teamwork.
Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in word processing, spreadsheet, and database PC applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum two (2) years of inventory management experience in a healthcare setting.
Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
Experience in hospital inventory management.
Training specific to hospital inventory control or supply management.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Associates degree in materials management or healthcare administration, or related field.
