*Job description*
Maui Wine in 'Ulupalakua is seeking a qualified individual to work in multiple areas of our vineyard and production facilities.
Joining Maui Wine is a unique opportunity to work in viticulture and wine production using specialized equipment and skills.
This full-time, permanent position focuses on the viticulture aspects of farming from pruning to harvest; and the bottling/warehouse operations of the finished wines and packaging inventories.
Candidates for the position should be comfortable working in a collaborative team environment, often fast paced and quality control driven.
*Duties of Vineyard: 6 varietals, 20 acres currently in production*
* Vine and Farm maintenance and care
* Quality hand work for pruning, suckering, leafing and harvest
* Equipment operations for mowing, leafing, netting, fertigation, and irrigation
* Learn to recognize and monitor vineyard pests, diseases, weather changes and infrastructure needs.
* Farm uses both conventional and organic integrated pest management solutions.
*Duties of Winery Production:*
* Maintaining and working with specialized bottling equipment
* Still and Sparkling Bottling line filling, labeling, and packaging
* Warehouse duties for receiving inventory and preparing outgoing orders
* Cleaning, organizing, and maintaining workspaces
* Drive, load and unload trucks and flatbeds
* Quality control of finished wines and packaging materials
*Qualifications Desired:*
* CDL
* Can operate manual (stick shift) vehicles
* Forklift, flatbed, ATV and tractor experience
* Mechanical aptitude or experience with small equipment
* Landscaping or building maintenance experience
* Previous experience in an agricultural or manufacturing company
* Maui Resident – must be over the age of 21
* Reliable transportation with a clean driving record
* Enjoys working outdoors
* Physically able to climb, work in confined spaces, under and around machinery
* Ability to stand, lift and move 50 lbs.
*Skills:*
* Flexible to changing tasks and schedules
* Performs duties and responsibilities with a high regard for detail and quality
* Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
* Possesses strong time management and organizational skills in both independent and team tasks
* Desire to work in agriculture and learn specialized skills
* Safety consciousness and ability to follow safety policies and procedures
* Work both outdoors and on production lines
* Can work alongside, teammates, supervisors, and consultants with flexibility.
