*Job Title: Bell Captain | Full-time*

As a *Bell Captain*, the supervision you provide to the team, along your knowledge of the hotel and the professionalism you display will create a sense of “welcome” like no other.

as needed * Maintaining communication of up to date, accurate information between guests, staff, management and our partners on a daily basis * Able to share information about the resort and activities, island activities, restaurants, and other information as it pertains to guests * Oversee the Guest Services department during the absence of the Guest Services Manager * Monitor and control labour and other expenses on a daily, monthly and annual basis.
* Promote and practice the philosophy of teamwork, mutual respect and integrity among all colleagues.
* Conduct performance management with colleagues as required * Organize time so all work is completed according to shift demand * Maintain atmosphere of aloha spirit by providing engaging, personalized, timely, and efficient service to our discerning guests * Focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times * Be knowledgeable of the island, our resort and resort offerings in order to be our guests’ trusted guide * Promote and enforce health and safety awareness as well as have a complete understanding of the emergency procedures * Follow hotel and departmental policies, procedures and service standards * Contribute to the improvement of the operation by contributing ideas, making suggestions and actively participate in departmental communication meetings * Actively participate and promote the Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui’s environmental program and department specific initiatives in working towards sustainable operations *Qualifications* *Your experience and skills include: * * Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language.
* Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
* Must be service oriented and capable of communicating effectively with persons involved in all levels of authority, both internally and externally.
* Must possess basic computational ability.
* Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, and e-mail functions.
* Must be familiar with wines and alcoholic beverages * Must be able to multi-task and be detail-oriented in a fast paced, high volume environment.
* Must have ability to work independently and to prioritize or seek clarification in prioritizing work assignments.
*Education* * High School diploma and/or vocational training * A Degree in Hotel/Hospitality or Tourism is an asset *Experience* * Minimum of one year experience in the Hotel Industry, preferably in bell/valet attendant role *Licenses or Certificates * * Must have and be able to maintain a valid Driver’s License and clean Driver’s Abstract * Must also be able to operate a manual shift vehicle *Your team and working environment:* Fairmont Kea Lani is the Island's only All-Suite and Villa luxury resort.
