Built with the cruising couple in mind, the Manta Mk-II is a US built Bluewater vessel with an excellent reputation.
Established as a serious Offshore liveaboard catamaran
that can easily be singlehanded.
Mantas have a strong loyal following and are very well built vessels
that were constructed in Florida.
We purchased this fine vessel from Bill, the original owner when covid hit
so we can save rent and cruise all around Hawaii.
This is the perfect platform to live aboard and cruise to the most remote places in Hawaii and anywhere in the world.
We are getting a wee bit older, so our sailing adventure days are numbered,
and an awesome opportunity has come up for us to rejoin land life.
The boat is a very solid construction – It’s not a fragile race boat,
it can take whatever any offshore conditions will throw at her
and just keep truckin’ on.
We have enjoyed sailing her around Mexico for a few months,
then the passage to Maui was a dream…
We spent two summer seasons in Hanalei Bay Kauai, and sailed around Kauai to visit Niihau island…
that was a dream beyond dreams.
Wintering one season in Kaneohe Oahu was awesome as well.
Our favorite passage is sailing from Honolua Bay Maui to the north side of Molokai,
perhaps the most view-delicious sail one can experience…
We sailed this boat around 5000 miles and our previous boat over 30,000…
There have been many places here in Hawaii that are still tops on anyone's nautical ‘bucket list’.
This is the vessel to comfortably take you to where nautical dreams are made of.
This is a Federally registered boat with the documents paid forward for more than two more years.
This cat is a ‘turn key’ boat, meaning…
Buy it, climb aboard, and sail off to your nautical dreams,
just like we did almost 4 years ago.
With enough functioning gear to keep on going ‘as is’ for many years…
Then,
at your leisure,
you can update any equipment you wish with the latest stuff as you so desire.
Both 30 HP diesel Volvo Pinta motors have been recently rebuilt, 2 and 3 years ago.
.
.
good for another 20 years.
The sails, although are original, are still in good working order.
Includes:
main, camber spar jib, spinnaker, and new storm sail.
This is the super deluxe version with many factory upgrades:
The 6 solar panels on top of the dodger, provide full charging of the large capacity gel cell batteries each half sunny day.
There is no need to plug in.
Radar and depth gauge, wind generator, 3000 watt power inverter/battery charger and much more is functional.
The AB inflatable with 15 HP Yamaha motor is only about 4 years and has been 100% reliable.
Recently installed Technautics Cool Blue freezer unit keeps the freezer frozen,
and the spacious refrigerator perfectly cold.
The insulation is very thick and with the new rubber seals, this top of the line system is very power efficient… in fact the most efficient unit that can be bought for a cruising sailboat.
The 50 pound Rocna anchor with 200 feet of stainless steel chain plus another 300 feet of High Tensile strength steel chain that easily can be added,
safely holds the boat in any condition.
It easily held her safely throughout the recent Lahaina fire
as I enjoyed over 40 hours of 40 to 80 knot winds
with many periods of what must have been over 100 MPH winds.
Absolutely no fire damage as I was anchored in the most northern part of Mala.
Two Fortress back up anchors are onboard and standing by.
Also included is a brand new in the box Maxwell VWC Series Windlass $3800 value.
A complete underwater breathing hookah to make zinc replacements and bottom work like a breath of fresh air;-)
All the old gear that did not work has been removed, so there is lots of extra space and a lot less weight without
the air conditioners, washer and dryer, huge diesel generator, two heavy water makers, a huge 200 lb water pump for the generator…
This will be a full disclosure of all items on board that work, there will be no hiding any parts about this boat.
I will be happy to show the new owner everything I know about how to operate every part of the vessel.
We are anchored in Maui.
These Manta 42 Catamarans sell for over $325,000 when fully updated.
For less than $40,000 this Manta will be in that condition and price range…
but with all new updates.
So you can see, my asking price is far below market value.
Before contacting me about this boat,
please be sure that my asking price is comfortably within your budget.
That said:
ALL REASONABLE OFFERS WILL BE CONSIDERED,
particularly before our haul in in July for bottom painting.
