dba Malama I Ke Ola Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and a fully integrated behavioral health, dental, and primary care system.
Our 100+ professionals and providers serve the people of Maui at three clinics—two locations in Wailuku and one in Lahaina.
We have behavioral health providers who partner with the primary care clinicians to assist in a vast number of activities including warm handoffs for acute behavioral health crisis management, substance abuse counseling, tobacco cessation counseling, chronic disease self management counseling, and long-term individual and family therapy.
We have been serving the Maui community since 1993.
Since 2015, we have served over 11,000 patients of which 97% are living at or below 200% of the Federal poverty level.

Register Nurse for our School-Based Health Clinic Program in Kihei: This RN will work a 7-hour shift, 10 months per year to coincide with the school schedule for in-session and school breaks.
Compensation will be paid throughout the year semi-monthly, eligible for all health insurance year-round, and prorated paid time off benefits based on 10-month schedule.
Primary Responsibilities: Provide direct healthcare services to students and staff in the school setting - Assess and evaluate students' health needs and provide appropriate care and treatment - Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers - Monitor and document students' vital signs, symptoms, and progress - Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid as needed - Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic conditions - Maintain accurate and confidential medical records for students - Educate students, staff, and parents on health-related topics and promote healthy lifestyle choices - Assist in the management of communicable diseases and implement infection control measures - Stay updated on current healthcare practices, policies, and regulations - Provide RN support to the School-Based Providers.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function assigned satisfactorily.

Education: - Graduate of an accredited school of Licensed Professional Nursing - Licensed in the State of Hawaii as a Register Nurse Experience: - Two (2) or more years’ experience as a Registered Nurse preferred - Experience or training in case management preferred, yet not required - Prior experience and familiarity with the population and the needs of the community.
- Must understand the fiscal and programmatic administration of a federally funded Community Health Center.
- Must understand the needs of the consumer and understand the complex management of a diverse, community-based health care program.
Skills/Competencies: - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to plan and organize small and large-scope projects.
- Ability to make accurate assessments and prioritize work to be done.
- Must have ability to logically analyze and rationalize issues of a complex nature and make decisions with large ramifications.
- Must possess strong leadership skills and ability to solve problems.
- Computer literate in word processing and spreadsheets.
Knowledge/skills of basic computer operations, i.
e.
word processing, database, including using Microsoft Word and Excel to create reports and graphs.
- Must be proficient in use of EMR for charting.
- Provide excellent customer services to our clients including demonstration of the organizational value that patient needs are the first and central priority and the belief that patients come first.
- Willingness to assist co-workers.
