*Position: *Residential Advisor *Facility:* Hawaii Job Corps Center - Maui *Location:* 500 Ike Dr, *MAKAWAO, HI* 96768 *Rate of pay:* $17.
20 per hour; On-site housing is neither provided nor expected *Sign-on bonus*: $2,000 *Work schedule:* * Full-time - 8-hour shift; Prime (3:30p-12:00a) and midnight (11:45p-7:45a) shifts available * On-call - As needed; 8-hour shift *Benefits include:* * Health/dental/vision/prescription insurance * Life insurance, AD&D as well as short-term disability * 401(k) with company match * Paid time off and paid holidays * Free Parking * Reduced Cost Meals * Employee assistance program * Professional development assistance * A chance to make a difference every day * A fun and supportive working environment *Position summary: *The residential advisor is responsible for residential activities providing for maximum program coordination, student discipline and preparation of records and reports in compliance with government and management directives.
*Essential responsibilities:* * Monitor group living conditions, evaluate situation within the dormitories and make decisions and/or recommendations while ensuring safety and proper student behavior * Perform duties involving student passes, leaves, evaluations, progress reports, emergencies and terminations for assigned shift * Communicate with families of students as required to resolve problems and assure the wellbeing of students * Coordinate activities of dormitories including recreation and entertainment on and off center, dorm competitions, dorm courts, and after hours tutoring and learning activities * Facilitate Career Success Standards (CSS) group sessions for students and provide guidance in CSS development; maintain documentation * Maintain required records and update CIS information on students on a regular and timely basis * Function as center duty officer (CDO) as assigned *Education and experience requirements:* * High school diploma or equivalent * One year of experience working with youth is required (paid or volunteer) * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Computer proficiency * A valid driver license with an acceptable driving record is required.

It has dormitories, classrooms, a dining hall, and recreational and medical facilities.
Training is open entry, open exit and can last up to two years.
