*Job Summary*
The Disaster Case Management (DCM) Supervisor is responsible for managing and evaluating Family Promise of Hawaiʻi’s Disaster Case Management Program on Maui, ensuring it is effective, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and aligned with best practices and the organization’s strategic plan.
This position will supervise several Maui-based Disaster Case Managers, creating a collaborative and supportive work environment.
The DCM Supervisor will also coordinate with other Maui recovery efforts, ensure compliance with funder and regulatory requirements, and serve as a backup for case management staff.
This full-time, long-term position must be based on Maui.
Family Promise of Hawaiʻi is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that provides critical housing and wraparound services for families experiencing housing instability and homelessness.
Our mission is to help homeless and low-income families in Hawaiʻi achieve sustainable independence by mobilizing existing community resources and support.
We provide emergency shelter, rental assistance, prevention/diversion services, and holistic case management.
*Essential Job Functions* Program Operations and Evaluation (55%) * Support the overall success and implementation of the recovery plans created by the families in the Disaster Case Management Program.
* Implement and maintain policies and procedures aligned with local and national best practices, funder requirements, government regulations, and FPH's strategic plan.
* Implement data and evaluation systems to measure program outcomes, inform decision-making, identify areas for improvement, and demonstrate impact.
* When needed as a backup for program staff, provide comprehensive case management, including intakes, assessments, individual weekly plans, referrals, housing assistance and placement, counseling, advocacy, and outreach.
* Ensure the integrity of program data, verify that case files are accurate and up-to-date, and analyze data for grant reports as needed.
* Monitor program budgets and collaborate on grant proposals and reporting to ensure compliance and sustainable funding.
Staff Supervision and Development (35%) * Recruit, train, and supervise a team of compassionate and skilled staff members, providing regular feedback, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
* Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that promotes teamwork, innovation, and a client-centered approach.
* Conduct performance evaluations, address performance issues, and recognize outstanding contributions.
Strategy, Growth, and Administration (10%) * Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to enhance service delivery and expand resources for families.
* Participate in networks and coalitions focused on Maui’s recovery from the 2023 wildfires and other local social services.
* Engage in growth-minded development; participate in conferences, workshops, and training sessions to remain current on the best practices and community needs.
* Participate in budget development and strategic planning as needed.
*Required Qualifications & Experience* * 5 years of progressively responsible experience in social services.
* Bachelor’s degree in human services field or equivalent experience.
* Proven leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
* Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and best practices in family support services.
* A self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills.
* Reliable and able to keep confidences.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications.
* Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
*Preferred Qualifications & Experience* * Master’s degree in social work.
* Prior experience in managing a recovery or relief project.
* Demonstrated experience in nonprofit program management, including program design, budgeting, and evaluation.
* Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and funding sources related to homelessness and social services.
* Knowledge of data management and reporting systems used in social services.
