*POSITION DESCRIPTION:*
*Hawaii Technology Academy (HTA) and Kupu have partnered to host an Environmental Education Leader position at their Lahaina campus.
*
As an education leader, you will be part of a program that provides support to the HTA Lahaina school, teachers, and students in natural resource pathways to help build a homegrown natural resources workforce.
You will engage students grades K-12 in hands-on, work-based and ʻāina-based learning activities that will help rebuild the community and develop connection to place.
The EEL will also develop curriculum that broadens student knowledge; foster long-term school and industry connections; and support and lead intersession and out-of-school programs.

*MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:*
* At least 21 years of age
* Possesses a passion and willingness to engage youth in a group setting
* Strong team player who works well with others and on their own
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain professional relationships
* Familiarity with Hawaii’s natural and cultural resources and landscapes
* Must possess a current, valid driver's license
* Must have reliable transportation to and from the school site
* Must meet minimum driving abstract requirements
* Must meet minimum criminal history background check requirements
*PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:*
* Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Work Experience in Education, Hawaiian Studies, Natural Resources and Environmental Management, Environmental Studies/Science, Ecology, Botany, Biology, Zoology, Forestry, Marine Science or a closely related field to the natural sciences
* Experience working with students in a mentorship or leadership role, especially intermediate and high school age
* Ability to meaningfully engage, manage and mentor groups of students
* Experience leading educational activities
* Ability to drive large vehicles (15 passenger vans)
