*RESPONSIBILITIES :*
- We are looking for Manager who is capable to handle all aspects of the restaurant operation to maintain and develop a high level of guest experience.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with General Manager's Standards, with adherence to Morimoto Brand Standard.
- Provide leadership for the division's Human Resources responsibilities to include: creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training, and succession planning processes that encompass the company's diversity commitment.
- Establish positive guest relations with all patrons of the restaurant.
Maintains a rapport with guests; complies with all requests and meets guest expectations under supervision and approved in conjunction with chef Morimoto's direction to build a positive reputation and return business.
- Respond to unusual events or circumstances requiring high-level management attention and informs the VP, General Manager and Executive Director of Food and Beverage of situations requiring his/her attention.
- Perform all other job-related duties as requested.
*JOB REQUIREMENTS*
- At least 2 years of college education in a related field, and/or equivalent work experience in Food and Beverage, at least 2 years of experience in the hospitality industry and previous experience in scheduling and staffing and at least 2 years of management experience in a high-volume restaurant.
- General understanding of Food and Beverage division, budgeting, profit and loss statement, labor costs, food and beverage costs, and operation expenses
- Strong organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints with particular attention to detail and quality of service.
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with management, associates, and hourly employees.
- Effectively listen and administer instructions, make decisions quickly and delegate responsibilities accordingly, and remain calm and manage multiple tasks in very high paced and stressful environment.
- Ability to view operations creatively and with a sales orientation.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment and possess effective leadership, communication, and problem-solving, reasoning and analytical abilities.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Japanese ingredients and food culture with Sake and wine knowledge preferred.
- Must possess the physical stamina and proper mental attitude to deal effectively with guests, chefs, vendors, and employees while working under pressure.
- Must be able to work independently, as well as work periodically alongside a coworker.
- Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 50 pounds for distances of up to 50 feet and to manipulate them from heights which may require the use of a footstool.
*Knowledge/familiarity with Japanese cuisine is a plus.
