The sisters and I had researched photographers and photoshoot packages months in advance and had concluded that 1) everyone that we found that seemed trustworthy was way too expensive, and 2) procrastination seemed to be the best route.
So classic, we arrive on vacay with NOTHING booked.
On day two of vacation Carly starts messaging photographers through Yelp about their availability (good luck to us, it's 4th of July weekend.

Most reply back that they're booked and everyone that had availability was more expensive than we wanted to spend ($400+).
Except for Patrick.
I feel almost like we scammed him or something because we ended up with the most beautiful family shots for $250.
Patrick messaged back immediately, was super accommodating and had us booked for the next evening at sunset.
He knew the area well, came to us at our resort and had pre-scouted the area for the best places to shoot.
He arrived at 6pm and spent an hour with us shooting at two separate locations.
There was seven of us (and I had such gotten engaged the night before) so I'm pretty positive we had every picture combo taken of us girls/parents/boyfriends.
Patrick had the photos edited and emailed me a dropbox file of 110 photos within 24 hours of the initial shoot.
He was professional, fun to work with and made the process very painless.

We chose Maui Motion Pictures after reviewing several offers.
I can't say enough good things about Patrick.
First of all, it's immediately apparent from the moment you first exchange any communications with him that he loves what he does.
He is passionate about photography and videography and catering to his clients.
Weather in this part of the world is unpredictable, changing drastically in as little as an hour, and he remained flexible (and even insisted on it) so that we could pick the best day for a sunset beach photo shoot.
The photo shoot itself went extremely well.
Patrick does a great job of making the shoot easy and fun.
As we have teenaged kids, they don't always like to take photos (okay, they hardly do :-)) and getting them to smile and enjoy a photo shoot is a challenge, to say the least.
We also haven't done one of these in a while, so were feeling a little awkward.
He handled that superbly, allowing us to be creative and relax, encouraging us to try many different poses both serious and funny, until we came up with a set of photos that hit the mark! The result was some of the best family photos we've had in a long while.
Beyond being a great photographer, he is super easy to work with, charges competitive prices for his services, ensures every detail is covered before, during and after the shoot, and is an all around great person.
