As an In-Suite Dining Captain, you will be a hospitality ambassador that will connect our guests to the delectable cuisine inspired by our diverse culture and island home.
Your attention to detail, thoughtful service and support of the department’s day to day operations will help us showcase our passion and accomplish our mission of turning moments into memories.
Job Title: In-Suite Dining Captain (Full-time) Hourly Rate: $15.
56 What you will be doing: Support the Food & Beverage Manager in ensuring the successful daily operation of the department by keeping management informed of all guest reactions and comments, conducting pre-shift briefings and liaising with Executive and/or Sous Chef on duty during service.
Supervise, coordinate and direct prompt, efficient and courteous delivery of all services Liaise with other departments to ensure seamless service Act as a role model to junior staff members by maintaining a professional work ethic Supervise staff, including coaching, counseling, training and adjusting schedules Monitor weekly schedules and breaks to maximize labor hours and minimize overtime Before starting, check with cashier regarding specific duties for the shift Check service stations for necessary equipment and set up: ice, dishes, utensils, cleaning/sanitation equipment; replenish as needed Deliver In Room Dining orders to guests in a timely manner, according to company standards and guest’s delivery preference selection Perform floor sweeps, picking up used In Room Dining equipment, tableware and table linens Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods Adhere to the State of Hawaii & EHC (Environmental Health Consultancy) food handling safety standards Organize time so all side work is completed according to shift demand Maintain atmosphere of aloha spirit by providing engaging, personalized, timely, and efficient service to our discerning guests Focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times Contribute to the improvement of the operation by contributing ideas, making suggestions and actively participate in departmental communication meetings Actively participate in monthly departmental sales promotions Qualifications Your skills and talents include: Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language.
Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
Must be service oriented and capable of communicating effectively with persons involved in all levels of authority, both internally and externally.
Must possess basic computational ability.
Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, and e-mail functions.
Must be familiar with wines and alcoholic beverages Must be able to multi-task and be detail-oriented in a fast paced, high volume environment Education High School diploma (or equivalent) and/or vocational training Experience 2 years previous experience in F&B operations Previous experience in luxury hotel environment desirable Licenses or Certificates TB Clearance Maui County Liquor Card TIPS certification Food Safety Class Certification or ServSafe Certification Additional Information All Candidates must be in possession of identification proving authorization to work in the United States as defined in the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA).
