*_ Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the Pacific Cooperative Studies Unit (PCSU), Mauna Kahalawai Watershed Partnership (MKWP), located in Lahaina, Maui.
Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.
*MONTHLY SALARY:* Salary commensurate with qualifications.
*DUTIES: *Coordinates outreach and education operations for MKWP.
Directly oversees MKWP Outreach & Education Associate.
Provides essential administrative support for MKWP’s program required to efficiently administer a natural resources research and protection project with seven to twenty (7-20) employees and volunteers protecting over 50,000 acres of forested watershed.
Responsible for the oversight, tracking, and projection of the project’s budget, including multiple individual accounts with different accounting periods.
Works closely with MKWP Program Manager to decide budget priorities.
Work must be done in accordance with applicable State and Federal regulations and laws, especially regarding invasive species, safety and health, and pesticides.
Researches grant opportunities; prepares and writes proposals; and prepares and edits manuscripts, reports, and publications.
*PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:* *EDUCATION* Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university.
*EXPERIENCE* Three to five (3-5) years of experience with budget formulation, maintenance, and projection.
Three to five (3-5) years of experience with outreach, public education, and facilitation.
Experience with accounting and purchasing practices.
Experience with natural resource management.
*KNOWLEDGE* Familiar with Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, Web Design, and social media outlets.
*ABILITIES & SKILLS* Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
Must be accurate, dependable, and detail-oriented.
Excellent organizational skills.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding personnel and budgetary matters.
Must possess a valid driver’s license (and if use of personal vehicle on the job is required, must also have valid personal driver’s insurance equivalent to Hawai‘i’s No-Fault Driver’s Insurance) and maintain throughout the duration of employment.
Post Offer/Employment Conditions: Must be able to pass a post offer criminal background check.
Must be able to complete the UH Information Security Awareness Training (ISAT) within two (2) weeks from date of hire, and re-certify every twelve (12) months.
*PHYSICAL/MEDICAL DEMANDS* Ability to lift and carry up to twenty (20) pounds unassisted.
Must be able to conduct fieldwork in dense vegetation under difficult conditions (heat, rain, cold temperatures, poor footing).
Must be able to hike over difficult terrain with a backpack weighing up to forty (40) pounds unassisted.
Must be able to work around and fly in approved helicopters.
*POLICY/REGULATORY REQUIREMENT* As a condition of employment, employee will be subject to all applicable RCUH policies, procedures, and trainings and, as applicable, subject to University of Hawai‘i's and/or business entity's policies, procedures, and trainings.
Violation of RCUH's, UH's, or business entity's policies and/or procedures or applicable State or Federal laws and/or regulations may lead to disciplinary action (including, but not limited to possible termination of employment, personal fines, civil and/or criminal penalties, etc.

*SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS:* Knowledge of biological principles and appreciation for biological resources, especially pertaining to Hawaiian ecosystems and alien/invasive species issues.
Knowledge and experience with UH/RCUH policies and procedures.
Familiarity with natural resource permitting and policies in Hawai’i.
Familiarity with watershed management techniques/conservation methods including but not limited to pesticide regulations, use, and documentation.
Experience working in an office to support biological field activities.
