Hawaii Technology Academy, a public charter school, seeks candidates residing on Maui for the position of *Maui Technology Coordinator*.
In our blended learning environment, the Maui Technology Coordinator works as part of an IT team across multiple Learning Centers and worksites.
The Maui Technology Coordinator serves in a key capacity ensuring that all constituents – parents, students, faculty, staff, and administration – have the hardware, software, and technological support necessary to succeed in our school community.
As part of HTA’s tech team, the Maui Technology Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of HTA’s hardware, software, and overall technology needs of the school, focusing primarily on the Maui Learning Centers and worksites.
This position works primarily from the Kihei site and will require frequent visits to the Lahaina site, as well as regular travel to Oahu and other neighboring islands as needed.
This position is a 12-month, full-time (40 hours/week) position under HGEA contract.
Applicants should have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; however, those with any level of experience are welcome to apply.
Salary offers will be commensurate with experience.
*Essential Responsibilities* * Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues accurately and efficiently * Provide help-desk support, both in-person and remotely * Communicate and collaborate with faculty/staff/students/parents, including follow-up to ensure problem resolution and satisfaction * Provide training and assistance to faculty/staff/students/parents on school systems where appropriate * Become fluent in relevant software and hardware systems used by HTA * Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade networking systems (i.
e.
WiFi, VOIP, PA) while ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime * Maintain student and faculty/staff account management databases across school platforms * Ensure school equipment meets the requirements for standardized testing, specific course software, and other needs * Set up tech equipment for events in classrooms or external locations, such as for standardized testing, graduation, board meetings, etc.
* Maintain organization and cleanliness of tech equipment, including disinfecting computers and untangling cables * Maintain inventory of tech equipment in an asset management system * Work with the IT team and other administration in reviewing, enforcing, and improving IT policies and procedures * Travel to various HTA sites (Oahu, Kauai, Maui, Big Island) to provide support and/or to install/maintain tech infrastructure In addition to those noted above, other responsibilities and tasks may be assigned to this position based on HTA’s needs.
*Qualifications* * High school diploma or equivalent (minimum) * Preferred candidates have experience with the following: * Working with hardware such as laptops, printers, networking equipment, fax machines, and other peripherals * Working with software systems including e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, and PDFs * Providing tech support to individuals with minimal technical skills * Working in customer service or a school setting * Software such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Cloud * Operating systems such as ChromeOS, Windows 10/11, and macOS Mojave and above * Administrative systems such as Google Admin/Google Workspace * Creating and/or referencing spreadsheets and CSV files * Wiring and configuring networking devices such as routers, switches, access points, etc.
* Preferred candidates have the following abilities/strengths: * Effective communication in a collaborative team environment * Productivity and responsiveness when working remotely from other team members * Strong self-motivation and initiative to take action on important projects * Developed interpersonal and organizational skills * Capacity to manage details while maintaining a broad overview of multiple, concurrent projects * Maintain flexibility and enthusiasm while engaging in and efficiently completing challenging projects * An interest in keeping current with IT trends and technologies * A willingness to advocate positive change within the organization *Physical Requirements* This position requires the completion of tasks typically found in a regular office environment as well as physical tasks at multiple work sites.
As such, candidates must be able to do the following: * View a computer monitor and distinguish figures or symbols * View, comprehend, and interpret written materials * Utilize keyboards, mice, touchpads, and similar equipment used to interface with technology * Handle frequent exposure to repetitive motions of the wrists or hands, such as packing shipping boxes or wrapping and tying cables * Use basic hardware tools, such as screwdrivers, wire cutters, and drills * Crouch while extending arms and hands, sometimes repetitively or for long periods of time * Climb small ladders, usually for single-story ceiling access * Lift between 25-50lbs alone and 75-100lbs with a team * Physically move between classrooms or workstations at a site * Secure transportation and frequently travel between Maui sites, such as Kihei and Lahaina * Occasionally travel to neighboring island sites by flight, such as Oahu, Kauai, and the Big Island To apply for this position, visit https://hi.
