The Program Accounting Clerk supports the daily operations of the Hawaii Keiki: Healthy and Ready to Learn (HK) Program by providing accounting support to the Hawaii Keiki Leadership Team and Staff.
The Program Accounting Clerk works under a supervisor to make routine choices within established procedures.
They perform basic troubleshooting to reconcile account balances and inquire to obtain missing information or verify unusual data.

Should the position be filled by a candidate on Oahu, the work schedule includes a hybrid option.
Should the position be filled by a candidate on a neighbor island, this position will be fully remote.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
Scans, collects digital copies and files accounting documents.
Attends meetings with the UHP Finance Department.
Obtains approvals from appropriate personnel for accounts receivable and payable.
Processes financial transactions and obtains signatures.
Reconciles customer and vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
Creates new vendors in accounting software or other documents.
Codes general ledger account and enters data into accounting system for accounts receivable and payable.
Tracks funding source activity, expenditures, processes reimbursements, and provides reports.
Monitors P-card usage including monthly payment reconciliation and posting.
Other:
Complies with all legal requirements and company policies.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education, Training & Experience
Minimum
High school education or GED.
Two years of experience in accounting or related fields.
Education may be substituted for required experience.
Preferred
Associate’s degree in accounting or similar field
Skills/Knowledge
Minimum:
Basic skills in the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications including Excel, Word, Google Suite applications, and Adobe.
Exposure to computerized accounting software.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively and sensitively.
Preferred:
Experience with FYISoft, Sage/Beanworks
