The Bookkeeper/Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing and maintaining financial records, processing payroll accurately and on time, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
The ideal candidate is self-starting, detail-oriented, organized, and possesses a strong understanding of accounting principles and payroll procedures.
Responsibilities: Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for multiple of business entities.
Full-cycle bookkeeping, including fixed-assets, accounts payable and receivable, and equity transactions.
Reconcile bank statements and financial discrepancies.
Generate financial statements and reports for management.
Assist in preparing information for outside tax accountant.
Complete and file corporate registrations and other compliance documents as needed.
Respond to management financial inquiries on timely basis.
Assist in month-end financial statement close and other accounting department duties as requested.
Payroll Processing: Process weekly payroll for employees.
Calculate and input hours worked, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
Ensure timely and accurate distribution of paychecks/direct deposits.
Address payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain all Labor Compliance and Certified Payroll documents throughout the project in a timely and efficient manner.
Provide verbal and/or correspondence assistance to subcontractors/vendors/owner operators to resolve discrepancies or inadequacies in their certified payroll Recordkeeping: Maintain organized and confidential employee records.
Keep payroll and financial records in compliance with legal requirements.
Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Associates Degree or higher in Accounting preferred.
Proven experience in bookkeeping required.
Understanding of accounting principles and accrual based accounting required.
Payroll processing and experience with certified payroll and prevailing wage required.
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online required.
Demonstrated ability to effectively interface with all levels of employees, management, and external organizations required.
Proficiency in MacOS Microsoft Suites - Word, Excel, PowerPointrequired.
